3 Tips for a #lit Hora Loca at Your Wedding

A tradition called “La Hora Loca,” or “The Crazy Hour” is a rising trend for wedding receptions in Colorado and beyond! This power hour is usually placed towards the end of the dance party, and brings a lot of fun, spontaneity and fire to receptions. Designed to revive the party, or just add some energy to it, la hora loca focuses on keeping the celebration going with props, spicy music and entertainment for (at least) 1 hour! Here are 3 tips from our entertainment planners for a lit hora loca at your wedding 🔥

  1. Keep the party props hidden until la hora loca begins. Have some crazy hats, masks or LED wands? Keep them off to the side, hidden from guests until it’s time for la hora loca. Guests may not realize that they are sacred, and bring them out too soon. Delivering the party props to the dance floor right when la hora loca begins is a great way to get guests excited!

  2. Kick off la hora loca with a spicy dance track. The music of la hora loca definitely makes the experience complete. Choose an upbeat track, and have your DJ announce the start of la hora loca while they mix into your song. We recommend some Salsa, “Fireball” by Pitbull, or your favorite high energy party track.

  3. Surprise your guests with entertainment on the dance floor. Everyone will understand that it’s time to party longer/higher/louder when your hora loca kicks off with entertainment right on the dance floor! If possible, keep your special entertainment a secret from your guests. Our favorite hora loca entertainment include: LED Robots, Stilt Walkers, Dancers & Greeters, and CO2 Blasters.
