How to Create a Disco Ball Chandelier
Disco. Doesn’t. Die. We all know this is true! Mirror balls in silver, gold, and rosé of all sorts and sizes are always ready to dazzle any party, reception or venue. Below, we have outlined how to create your own disco ball chandelier, whether you are looking for 1 disco ball or dozens in a custom installation.
🕺Option 1: One Disco Ball
For parties looking for a single disco ball above the dance floor, we recommend ordering a 16”+ ball off of Amazon here. Depending on your venue’s ceiling height, you may be able to hang your crew hang this above the dance floor with appropriate mounting hardware. A solo disco ball is nostalgic, classic and adds a dose of sparkle. Please note that the disco ball in the image below is a 20”. Installation Time: < 1 Hour
🕺Option 2: 16 Disco Balls in 3 Sizes with a Classic Chandelier as a Centerpiece
This second option has been paired with a glamorous 24” chandelier for more of a upscale party feel. 6”, 12” and 16” silver disco balls have been installed from the beams in the ceiling using a variety of lengths of hardware. For this installation, our team used 4 x 16”, 8 x 10”, and 4 x 6” silver disco balls. We also added in white starry night lasers to create an additional sparkle effect that bounced off of the many tiny mirrors on the disco balls and was seen all throughout the venue space.
This type of installation works best when beams/mounts are centralized, accessible and easy to access. We also recommend having the hanging wires cut on site to allow for an artistic, organic feel in the height of each disco ball. Installation Time: 2.5+ Hours
🕺Option 3: Disco Ball Chandelier with One Mount
Our new disco ball chandelier takes the 16 disco balls of the custom installation above, and mounts them to one circular chandelier mount. This allows for many disco balls to shine in one area, utilizing only one mount on the ceiling. The disco balls can be swapped out for different sizes and colors like rosé, gold and silver. The disco ball chandelier we use most often is 16 silver balls, also paired with a white starry night laser to spin light around the room. Your florist may add flowers to the disco balls for some extra romance!
The balls are more centralized with this option, and the 1 chandelier mount also decreases the amount of time for setup. Depending on ceiling height, this option is a great way to pack a lot of disco balls above your dance floor, focused more vertically vs. horizontally like option 2 above. Installation Time: 1.5+ Hours
