Colorado Country Baraat Route: Spruce Mountain Ranch Upper Ranch/Ponderosa Room
Starting point: Entryway Outside of the Ponderosa Room, facing North.
Route: Starting outside the Ponderosa Room doors, driving a wooded-walk, passing the lake, ending at Trey's Vista archway for ceremonies.
Estimated duration: 15 - 25 minutes
Notes: Open both gates near the lake, and staff the far side of the route to ensure no other cars enter the baraat. Direct other vendors to load in on the south side of Ponderosa Room during the baraat.
Urban Denver Baraat Route: Gaylord Hotel
Starting point: On Himalaya Rd, down by the pavilions, facing North.
Route: Head North from the Mountain View Pavilion, then turn right onto the service road that leads to the Gaylord West Lawn, ending at the Lawn or Adams Terrace for ceremonies.
Estimated duration: 20 - 45 minutes
Notes: Ensure road closure with Gaylord Hotel - Himalaya St is a public road. The service road is gravel: guests should wear walking shoes.
How to Create a Fun + Smooth Baraat
1. Share the Baraat Route in Advance
Have your planning team notify all vendors of the baraat route before the big day, and share a simple map showing the starting/ending points and route direction. The maps above were created in Canva - simple but effective!
2. Build the energy Around the Groom
The best baraat music reflects the groom while still giving the entire crowd something to celebrate to. Mix traditional favorites with recognizable Bollywood, Punjabi, hip-hop, pop, or dance tracks that keep multiple generations engaged. The best baraat routes are relatively flat, and 1 - 2 blocks long. It’s easier to pause to dance than it is to rush and walk quickly. How warm or cold it will be may also guide how long to make the route. Older guests may want to enjoy an even shorter route, or ride along in a golf cart.
4. Coordinate Safety and Venue Logistics
Confirm the route visually with a map, share with the venue, planner, transportation team, entertainment vendors, and security. Assign 1 point of contact to guide the procession and communicate changes to your vendor team.
5. Keep Everyone Hydrated
Keep everyone hydrated before and throughout the baraat, especially the groom! Bring a cooler of water or keep refreshments accessible wherever the baraat starts and ends. Staying hydrated helps everyone stay energized and enjoy the celebration from start to finish.
