5 Creative Ways to Enhance Your Dance Party at Your Wedding
You’ve hired an exciting DJ for your wedding, and are well on your way to having the night of your life! In addition to your first dance, here are 5 creative ways that you can really enhance your musical experience at your wedding. Having a virtual event? See our live stream options here.
Flowers for the DJ booth 🌹
If the DJ is performing from a banquet table, feel free to add some greenery or floral arrangements to the table top! The DJ booth is often at the front of the room, and gets a lot of eyeball attention throughout the wedding. Your DJ’s cables will be tucked away, but it’s always nice to have the decorations of the wedding be congruent across each area of the room, especially on the DJ table! One garland of 3 feet for in front of the DJ controller, or even a small bouquet in a vase are both ways to accentuate the look of the DJ table.
Ask guests for requests in advance 📝
Get ahead of guest requests by inviting friends and family to submit their tracks in advance of your big day. Through Ignight Entertainment music planning app, Vibo, invite guests to upvote and suggest songs of their own. It’s easy to add songs from Spotify and even YouTube. Have some fun collecting guest’s song requests, then create your final Play, and Do Not Play lists. At your wedding reception, the DJ will be focusing on mixing fire beats, the guests will be dancing, and you will in love with the perfect playlist for your wedding.
Once the dance party starts, don’t stop! 🕺
As a general rule of thumb, once the dance party starts, we try not to interfere with the energy building on the dance floor. We recommend the following order for receptions; dinner, toasts, first dances, then dance party! Once the DJ hits play on the first track, a fire starts to burn on the dance floor until the very last song. Your guests will follow your lead, so when you jump right onto the dance floor, they will too.
Clearly share your event vision with the team 😎
Your event vision is always our priority! An event timeline and complete playlist shared 7 to 14+ days before the event will align you with your wedding vendors well before showtime. Our event planning tools allow for us to really get to know you and your event vision. We follow the Scout’s motto: “Always be prepared!” Our DJ packages also include a planning call with your DJ, where we confirm the flow of events and your special requests. Get to know each other, laugh, and have fun, too! This person will be your wedding after all! Their role in your big day is important, as they will be guiding the flow of events with the microphone. Empower them with your event vision for a smooth flow the day of.
